Ponce De Leon Avenue Liquor Store Accident

Atlanta Landmark Majestic on Ponce De Leon

As an Atlanta, Georgia Car Accident Lawyer, I thought I had seen it all.  Just when you thought it was safe to go to the liquor store, you find out it is not.  This is a post is about local personal injury news from around town.
Now, if you live in the city near Midtown Atlanta or Virginia Highlands, you are familiar with the liquor store at 737 Ponce de Leon Avenue called Green’s.  Well, have you seen it lately?  Noticed some boarded up windows?  Now, don’t start worrying that they have closed down in this terrible economy.  That is not the [...]

Train Hits Truck

Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting a recent accident in the news with a “train hits truck” headline.  It involves both Clayton County and Dekalb County, but does not include a car chase.  Well, it is because it has the match up of a train versus a truck.
We all have had the arms of the train tracks go down and not see a train.  Growing up in rural areas, this would happen all the time.  Maybe someone or a kid was playing on the tracks setting it off.  Who knows?  But, if and when a train hits a truck, I do [...]

Memorial Day Weekend Accident Statistics

This is a legal post from the Decatur Car Accident Lawyer.
Accidents happen everyday.  Accidents happen every weekend, but some weekends are different than others.  One such weekend is the Memorial Day weekend.
Already this weekend, two people have died in vehicle collisions.  In addition, over 300 people have been injured in these accidents.  But that is only part of the story.  As of Saturday night, there were 1,263 crashes.  Since Monday is the big day, let’s hope that these accident statistics stay low.  Please be safe, don’t drink, watch for drunk drivers, wear your seat belts, and don’t stay out too [...]

Car Accident Mediation

car accident mediation

This is an article about mediation from the Georgia Car Accident Lawyer.  Think of a friendly, helpful judge that just wants to wrap things up and go home.  However, that judge really wants you to feel like you made the decision to meet in the middle or at an acceptable position.  Mediators, usually retired judges or accident attorneys, have seen auto accident cases like ours before.  They probably litigated some.  They have a good understanding of the issues of causation and damages, personalities, attorneys, the county where the case is held, and much more.
Mediation of an injury claim starts off [...]

Causation/Who Is At Fault in Car Accident?

Impeachment

So, who was at-fault?  That is the key question a Georgia car accident case hinges on.  If it was you were to blame for the whole thing, then you don’t have a case.  You could probably call a Georgia lawyer and just find out.  Then, get on with your life.  If you are not completely sure, then definitely call a car accident lawyer in Georgia.
The other driver in the collision must be at fault.  Although, you might have contributed to the crash in someway, the other person must be at fault.  In the case of a auto accident Georgia, the other driver [...]

Courthouse to Be Less Racist

Jackson, Georgia Courthouse

Usually, these blog posts are about being a personal injury lawyer in Georgia, car accidents in Atlanta, Marietta, Decatur, McDonough, Macon, ect., but today is different.  I will write about something that is not about personal injury attorney ideas and laws.  A recent law related article got my attention and created the motivation to the write this article. As an Atlanta car injury lawyer, I know that courthouses are neutral places, and such behavior is an overt articulation of an imbalance of justice in that courtroom.
Terrible news for the racists.  The Adams County courthouse in Nebraska is removing a degrading photo [...]
