Is the other driver, the one who actually hit your car or you or have some other personal injury, going to pay the medical bills? This is one of the first questions that comes out of the mouths of my clients on the first meeting. As a personal injury lawyer, that is a good question. As you now know, ambulance bill, doctor’s bills, hospital bills, therapy bills, and bills you didn’t even know existed start arriving in the mail. So, is the insurance company going to pay the bills? The answer is yes. But, the next question is when. So, when? At the time of settlement, usually. Or trial, if they force our hand by not offering a reasonable settlement for your injuries.

If you have been injured in a car accident, contact our office. The insurance company may want you to think they are going to pay your bills, and will tell you so. But the truth is, they will attempt not pay them. Further, they will get you to close sign away your rights for future treatment and medical costs.

This post is about recent news in Henry County from your McDonough Personal Injury Lawyer. On Friday March 2010, a women was crossing Jonesboro road and was hit by a driver of a Black SUV. The driver got out of the car and spoke to the injured pedestrian. However, and contrary to Georgia Car Accident Laws, got back in her vehicle and took off. One thing happen, though, the driver did not expect. That is part of the accident was caught on the dashboard camera of a police officer.

The police officer describes the women driving the SUV as a white woman. She is in her 20′s with blond hair. Her hair is curly and goes to the shoulder. Henry County police are still looking for the women who hit someone with her car.

The driver appears to be liable for any and all damages for the pedestrian. The injured person can recover lost wages, pain and suffering, medical and hospital bills, and damages for future medical bills and suffering. Also, in a situation like this, punitive damages might be available.

This legal article was recently updated at Lost Wages. The information on this page has also been changed to reflect that. This page is legally accurate as of the time of writing. The article is about 1) knowing that you can recover money from lost wages and that 2) you need to do certain things in order to accomplish the goal of actually getting additional recovery from the wrongdoer’s insurance company.

Many times with an injury and almost all times with a serious injury you will miss work. Your income will fall. You will have less money. You might even get fired because you can’t work because of the accident. It could have been from something like a dog bite injury. But more likely you were hurt in a car accident, truck accident or motorcycle accident.

Proving Lost Wages

How do you prove you could not work? Think of the person who believes you the least. What would they want to see? Perhaps, a letter from the doctor recommending you not to work? That sounds good. Even that sceptical person would tend to start believing you. So, maybe a little more proof could be in order. How about a lost wage verification form from your employer saying that you didn’t work the days the doctor said you shouldn’t. Now that person that never believes you doesn’t have anything to say.

But what does that have to do with my personal injury lawsuit? Just substitute that skeptical person with the insurance company and you have it. As your Georgia personal injury lawyer having a doctor’s letter and wage verification form is work exactly the amount of work you missed.

Proving your lost wages due to your injury has an added benefit. It shows you were hurt in the accident. It shows that you responded to this accident like someone who was hurt. It adds to your credibility to have the above-information before requesting compensation for lost earnings from missing work when negotiating with the insurance company. Learn more from our Georgia Lawyer by contacting Mr. McClelland today at 770-775-0938.

Dog Bites in Georgia

I love dogs. I really do, but some dogs are dangerous. Most are not and are completely lovable. My family growing up treated dogs as members of the family, and we all still do. However, being attacked by a vicious dog can cause sever injuries or even death. Young children are especially susceptible for various reasons. For one, they can be fearless. The other reason is that they just don’t know better yet. In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 4.7 million Americans are bitten by dogs every year. And of those, 800,000 caused serious injuries that require medical attention and treatment.

Many times a dog bite injury may result in permanent scarring and nerve damage. Psychological harm and fear of dogs may last beyond the actua

l injury. One might become scared of dogs on the street or at the park. Some may even become a little weary of their own pets. This is truly sad.

If you were bitten by a dog, then you may be allowed to recover under the law. If you missed work or lost earnings because of the injury, then it may be recoverable under Georgia law. Also, if you have medical bills or hospital bills or imaging bills, then those may be recoverable, as well. Also, the pain and suffering, including mental anguish, may be recoverable, as well. Also, emotional distress, disability, disfigurement, wrongful death, scarring, loss enjoyment of life. In addition, injury victims may be entitled to recover for “special” or “economic” damages related to items such as past, present and future medical bills, lost wages and future earnings, and other out-of-pocket expenses. It is important to contact an experienced personal injury lawyer to help you with your case. If you have been bitten by a dog or attacked by an animal and suffered injuries, then contact your dog bite lawyer today for a free consultation.
